How do the experiences you offer at Nature Treks give guests a unique perspective on the history, people or culture of the Himalayas?
We offer nature and adventure travel based experiences that support sustainable travel and the local destinations. These include community based treks and tours, bird watching, wildlife tours and other adventure experiences.
It’s the connection we create with our clients through the service and attention we provide, this is true even though many people/agencies offer similar products in Nepal. At the same time, we know the experience that comes from knowledgeable and reliable staff, guides and leaders make all the difference in creating the best possible memories for our guests.
How have the experiences that you offer evolved since their inception?
I love my work and after gaining lots of experience for some two decades in the same field (nature and adventure tourism in Nepal), we have continued to have our own company. From the beginning, we believed in high quality, personal and credible service to our clients and always looked toward building long term relationships. That has benefited us greatly as we still get many clients that keep coming back to us.
What is one detail of an experience you provide that may go unnoticed by guests, but which you feel is important?
Sometimes, in some places, there are strict regulations that everyone needs to follow, but more important is client safety and enjoyment, that we care most and can be adjusted accordingly.
What do you wish every guest knew as they consider participating in the experiences you offer?
About the country and its norms and values before travelling and participating in the activities we offer in Nepal. Also, happily participate in making the trip more fun and memorable and try to get the most of the trip they are on with us.
What is one piece of clothing or equipment guests should have to maximize their enjoyment of the experiences you offer?
To maximize their enjoyment, they are open and able to accept the situation as it comes to them, in other words, we really advise and wish that clients travel with a very positive frame of mind and attitude.
What is one travel trend that really excites you?
Travelers contacting us through the internet and making bookings through the internet is exciting. Travelers are connected directly to us and funds come directly to the service rather than through an agent aboard, who cuts large sum for their commission. In this way the real beneficiary gets real benefit and travelers can also enjoy the trip immensely even though there may not be many sophisticated items, that may be not important at all. Of course, the credibility of the operator should be studied well before booking.
What is one insiders tip to getting the most out of an experiential travel vacation?
Enjoy. Trust us and deal the time as it comes and travel with a very positive frame of mind and attitude.
What is one strategy that has helped your business to grow?
Being ourselves genuinely and being flexible in customizing the program and pricing according to the clients need and prompt response.
What is one personal habit that has helped you to be successful?
I love the work and can be there any time as needed, in addition to normal working hours. I am willing to sacrifice my feeling and sometimes family festivals, as we never say that is first, rather client’s are come first and we sometimes work 24 hours a day. Guests are the priority, their safety and enjoyment.
Please share one instance where a guest had a moving or emotional reaction to the experience you provided to them.
Most of our guests come as a traveler and go back as friends, sometimes we get attached so much they feel like part of our family. Among many, one instance when some of our guests actually cried and showed that they were emotionally touched so much. This occurred when they were up in the mountains in such natural, pristine and beautiful environment, that was possible due to us. This gives us so much pleasure and makes us emotional too and we think “now I have done my work well.”
