COR Surf is a California based company that began by producing premium surfboard racks made from both galvanized steel and eco-friendly sustainable wood. They have since branched out into products like polarized bamboo sunglasses, iphone and Samsung Galaxy cases and zip up hoodies. COR Surf was the first company to invent a multi-tool that was made specifically for surfers. Today we are reviewing their dry bag backpack.

Pros & Cons
This is a great size bag that is tremendously versatile. I’ve used it for paddleboard trips (as you can see in the photos), but also when running errands around town on my bike. It is also easy to imagine using the COR Dry Bag Backpack as carry-on luggage for my next trip.
All aspects of the bag are made of high quality materials with solid workmanship. However, it is important to note that the front pocket is listed with a water resistant zipper, not water proof. I found this to be the case as moisture did get inside when it was strapped to the front of the paddleboard.
It is also good to keep in mind that roll-top dry bags are not meant to be waterproof in long-term submersion applications, but they can keep your gear dry and floating safely on top of the water when necessary.
Many dry bag manufacturers add padded shoulder straps and a waist band to a dry bag and call it a waterproof backpack, COR has added many more features to make this a truly functional backpack. The obvious improvements are the mesh side pockets, the front pocket, and the laptop sleeve. The more subtle aspects are the internal frame sheet and back padding as well as the nylon liner. It also has more harness/shoulder strap adjustments than other bags on the market. These touches make this a bag suitable for everyday use in all weather conditions at a price that beats the pants off of those simplified versions of a dry bag backpack.
Pro Tip: closing a roll top dry bag
First, purge the excess air from the bag, next, pull the top buckles apart so the top is taut, and then roll down the stiffened cross bar into the bag three or more times. Now simply attach the two ends of the slide lock buckle.
The COR Waterproof Dry Bag Backpack is available on Amazon for $98.99.
